What Changed in AI Voice Tools: Our Accounts on 29 October 2026

On 29 October 2026 we checked our own accounts in Speechify, Murf AI and ElevenLabs against our reviews, whose prices date from 21 October (Speechify) and 7 October 2026 (the other two). In each, something differed from the review; the sections below give what the review said, what the account showed and what it means. Figures that still matched close the post, and our method is on the how we test page.

At a glance

  • Speechify: a 7-day trial offer, then €139 a year; MP3 still needs payment.
  • Murf AI: Dub credits at $0.25, not $1; 100 free credits, not 200.
  • ElevenLabs: unused credits on paid plans carry over for up to two months.

Speechify offered our account a 7-day trial, priced in euros

Our Speechify review of 21 October 2026 described a 3-day Premium trial that turns into a paid plan, $139 a year on the website, and said MP3 downloads are left out.

On 29 October 2026, the pop-up at login offered our EU account “Try Speechify Premium free for 7 days”, then €139.00 a year; the public pricing page still listed $139. Starting the trial put a $1 check on the card, refunded within the minute. The terms still allow 3 days “unless a different period is stated at sign-up”, and this sign-up stated 7.

Speechify Premium sign-up offer with a 7-day free trial, then 139 euros a year, a reserved-trial countdown and a timeline ending on 5 November
The offer our EU account saw on 29 October 2026: “only €2.73/week”, a countdown keeping the trial “reserved” for 14:42, a reminder email on 4 November and the trial’s end on 5 November.

The trial showed a 50-hour MP3 meter, yet the download stopped at “Audio downloads require a paid plan” and a Skip Trial and Pay Now button. Missing from our review: Premium’s 600 credits a month for AI tasks such as summaries and quizzes, with the note “Unused monthly credits do not roll over”.

Step two of the MP3 download for our short test document, 29 October 2026: no file reached the Downloads folder.

What it means: a week to decide, but no MP3 to judge. Our review quoted the refund terms: requests must arrive “within 7 days from the date of the subscription (including any trial period)”. By our arithmetic, a 7-day trial closes that window on the day the year is charged; after a 3-day trial, our review counted about 4 days.

Murf Dub now lists $0.25 a credit, not $1

Our Murf AI review of 7 October 2026 priced dubbing at $1 a credit, after a free trial of 200 credits with watermarked downloads and one project: about $2 per minute per language.

On 29 October 2026, the Dub tab of the pricing page listed 100 free credits, 2 credits per minute per dub and 2 projects at a time. Pay as you go cost $0.25 a credit, with no watermarks and 5 projects. The Studio tab counted “30+ languages & accents”; our pages quote 35+ from its home page.

What it means: by our arithmetic, a dubbed minute now costs about $0.50 per language, a quarter of the old figure, while the free allowance has halved. Studio’s voiceover plans are priced separately and did not move.

ElevenLabs rolls unused credits over for up to two months

Our ElevenLabs review of 7 October 2026, comparing it with Murf, said it “resets credits every month, even on yearly plans”. Read alone, that suggests unused credits vanish each month.

On 29 October 2026, the subscription FAQ in our paid Creator account gave the whole rule. The allowance resets each billing cycle, but “Unused credits can roll over for up to two months as long as you maintain an active paid subscription and do not downgrade or cancel”. The Dubbing page also announced Dubbing v2 in alpha: 92 languages, against 74 in text to speech.

What it means: a quiet month on a paid plan costs no credits; a downgrade or cancellation does, once the cycle ends. We can’t tell whether the rule is new, since our ElevenLabs vs Murf comparison already quotes it, so read this as a correction to the review.

What did not change

These figures from the same accounts and pages still matched our reviews.

  • Speechify Premium: $29 a month or $139 a year on the public pricing page; MP3 exports capped at 50 hours a year, without celebrity voices.
  • Speechify Studio: Starter $100 and Creator $300 a year for 86,400 and 345,600 credits, at 1 credit per second of voiceover; inside the app, our EU account was quoted €86 and €256.
  • Murf AI: Creator $19 a month billed yearly ($228) or $29 monthly, for 24 hours a year or 2 a month; Business $66 ($792) or $99; 10 free minutes in total; the Falcon API at $0.01 per 1,000 characters; cloning only as “Professional Voice Cloning” on API Enterprise.
  • ElevenLabs: Starter, Creator and Pro at $6, $22 and $99 a month, or $5, $18.33 and $82.50 billed yearly; about 10, 30, 121 and 600 minutes from Free to Pro; 74 languages; no commercial use on the free plan.

How we checked

The 29 October figures come from our own accounts, checked from the EU that day: a Premium trial with a card on file at Speechify, a free Murf workspace and a monthly Creator plan we pay for at ElevenLabs. We read prices, limits and menus from screenshots that keep the screen edges; we did not listen to or rate any voice. The 7-day offer and its countdown are what one new account saw, not a promise to every buyer.

All our reviews are in the AI software reviews hub, and we re-check the accounts before each new issue.
